This class is for students who are interested in creating artwork that reflects their personal experiences during the coronavirus pandemic through drawing, watercolor and collage.  We will begin by looking at how artists have responded to global crises throughout history to explore how can we make our own art in response to the current pandemic.  We will investigate the rich history around artists’ interpretations of and responses to global issues, including the Renaissance and the Black Death; the Great Depression and the WPA; WWI and the Dada movement; and WWII and Abstract Expressionism. The students will use this historical inspiration to create their own art in response to this strange and historic time. ($50 course fee)
