Minnesota Institute for Talented Youth (MITY) hires roughly seventy-five teachers, coordinators, interns, dorm supervisors, and other staff each year to support its mission of providing an educational community where diverse, intellectually curious students can experience the excitement of learning and expand their academic and social visions. Applicants should have a passion for working with students from all backgrounds.
Program Support Assistant
MITY is hiring a part-time (20 hours per week) assistant to support its academic enrichment programs. Responsibilities include: assist with purchasing, organizing and transporting supplies; preparing program materials; providing on-site support; updating databases; communicating with families and staff both in person and via email; ordering buses for field trips; updating MITY Chromebooks; and other duties as assigned. Applicants should have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, be a self starter and team player, and be able to work both on-site and remotely.

Teachers
MITY is always seeking high-quality educators for its programs. Candidates must have experience working with gifted or advanced students, be open to and supportive of all forms of diversity and enjoy working with young people. Applicants should be strong communicators, creative and able to work independently.

Teaching Assistants
MITY is seeking TAs for its elementary and middle school programs. The elementary program takes place on 3 consecutive Saturday mornings; TAs must be able to work from 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM all three Saturdays. The middle school program takes place for 2 consecutive weeks during the summer, once in June and once in July; TAs work an 8-hour shift M-F for the full two weeks. TAs can work one or multiple sessions. The ideal candidate is outgoing, responsible and have experience working with children.

Dorm Supervisors
MITY is seeking dorm supervisors for its summer 2024 high school sessions. Responsibilities include supervising students after classes (4:00 PM onward) and on weekends, facilitating and supervising daily evening activities and field trips, enforcing MITY's Student Code of Conduct, handling emergency situations that may arise, and otherwise assisting students and families to ensure a safe and joyful experience during the session. Dorm supervisors live in the dorm with the students and are expected to be on-site whenever students may be present. Applicants must be at least two years post-high school. Candidates should be team players, have strong interpersonal skills, and be responsible.
