Even though Planet Earth is roughly 3/4 water, much of that water is unusable and cannot be safely used by us. The oceans are salt water, glaciers and icebergs are freshwater that is not accessible, and what is available to us has been polluted by industrial and agricultural practices. Students will learn more about how people are cleaning polluted water around the world and then take that knowledge to build a water filter that can clean dirty water using materials found around your home and in the natural world.
