In this hands-on class, students will use their creativity and problem solving abilities as they learn new skills and make a portfolio of their own unique paper art. We will discover the magic of transforming paper into three-dimensional sculptures using paper mache and other techniques. We will practice origami, the ancient art of paper folding, learning to create both simple and intricate designs by exploring geometric shapes. We will find out how to make complex, layered collages, fabricate colorful wall hangings using paper weaving, and use our engineering skills to construct dynamic pop-up cards. Join us for a journey of creativity and imagination as we play with paper!

About Your Extraordinary Saturday (YES)
For 1st – 4th Grade Students
A New Adventure Every Weekend
MITY's program for elementary students enables inquisitive, high achieving 1st - 4th grade students to continue learning outside of the traditional classroom. Courses are intentionally designed to inspire inquiry, activate imaginations, and engage eager learners in hands on discovery that is not possible within a regular classroom setting. While students are in class, parents are invited to listen to professional speakers on topics related to raising bright children, socialize with other parents, or visit a local coffee shop.
