Incredible, Sometimes Edible Art

Come discover the artistic world of Giuseppe Arcimboldo, an Italian painter known for his imaginative portraits made entirely of vegetables, fruits, flowers and other objects.  His whimsical paintings will be a starting point for our investigations into artistic composition and the wonders of symmetry. Together we will wander through a bit of art history and explore how a variety of media – including pastels, paint and produce! – can be used in our own unique creations.  Join us to become an expert at design and assemblage using 2D images and 3D natural objects as you create your own edible art and work collaboratively on large-scale portraits.

A New Adventure Every Weekend

MITY's program for elementary students enables inquisitive, high achieving 1st - 4th grade students to continue learning outside of the traditional classroom.  Courses are intentionally designed to inspire inquiry, activate imaginations, and engage eager learners in hands on discovery that is not possible within a regular classroom setting.  While students are in class, parents are invited to listen to professional speakers on topics related to raising bright children, socialize with other parents, or visit a local coffee shop.
