Ancient Civilizations – Maya

Did you know that Mayans developed calendar systems, hieroglyphic writing, and the science of astronomy?  Join us as we learn about Mayan civilization, including their customs, counting system, architecture and more!  We will look at how the Mayans adapted to their physical environment and were affected by these adaptations. We will also explore several theories as to why this thriving civilization suddenly seemed to disappear. By the end of the class, you will be able to teach others about Mayan civilization through your own original game or brochure.
