This class will teach young actors to choose and prepare a monologue for audition material. There will be three main components to this class:

  1. How and where to find material that is suited to your type and castability.
  2. How to effectively prepare the material and execute the piece to best demonstrate your skills as an actor.
  3. Understanding the audition process and learning to adapt to different dynamics involved in a variety of audition situations.

Monologues will be workshopped, then performed in a mock audition at the end of the session.

About Online ExplorSchool

For Students In Grades 5 – 8

MITY’s Online ExplorSchool provides bright students with the opportunity to explore a topic of interest with similarly motivated peers. The goal is to keep students challenged and engaged as they build, create, and solve real world problems. Each class features a variety of activities that take students away from a screen as they use their hands to design and construct. Importantly, students also have opportunities to socialize with their peers through non-academic activities.
