Basics of 3D Modeling in TinkerCAD

Have you ever wondered if you could design something three-dimensional on a computer that could actually be made? Using the web-based program TinkerCAD, students will learn about aligning objects, fusing shapes together, and practical considerations when 3D printing. We will use the engineering design process to reinforce principles of good design, even when making artistic items. At the end of the course, MITY will provide a list of businesses where you can have your designs 3D printed and sent to you.

About Online ExplorSchool

For Students In Grades 5 – 8

MITY’s Online ExplorSchool provides bright students with the opportunity to explore a topic of interest with similarly motivated peers. The goal is to keep students challenged and engaged as they build, create, and solve real world problems. Each class features a variety of activities that take students away from a screen as they use their hands to design and construct. Importantly, students also have opportunities to socialize with their peers through non-academic activities.
