Have you ever wondered if you can trust your senses?  Or, just what does ‘real’ really mean anyway? Or, who gets to decide what’s right and wrong and why?  Or, maybe you’ve wondered what the difference is between the brain and the mind? If you’ve ever thought about these puzzling quandaries, Philosophy: Applying the Big Ideas of the Past to Understand Real Life in the Present is the class for you!  Through this class you will explore important historical key ideas from the main branches of philosophy and understand the unique problems and issues that have driven our history of ideas. In this class you will also apply what you’ve learned to real life situations today and ask relevant questions for further study.  This class will be great for preparing you for the critical thinking needed in high school, college, and beyond!
