We are engineering teachers who believe that the design process is not exclusive to technical pursuits. In other words, we believe engineering can and should be fun! This class will feature a lot of research (game play) as well as analysis and design. We will use the analytical parts of our brain to assess probabilities and analyze game theory and scoring. We will also engage our creative side as we design, model, prototype, and fabricate a game through both traditional methods and 3D modeling/printing. We will take a field trip to one of our local game establishments to explore their library. Did you know that the Twin Cities is the birthplace of one of the world leaders in gaming? We will learn about our homegrown slice of the multibillion dollar board game industry when we meet with local professionals.
