Welcome artists! This studio intensive focuses on developing drawing and painting skills, and creating a personal visual language through experimentation and self-expression. In the first part of the day, you will draw from direct observation, learn color theory, and experiment with charcoal, paint, collage, and collaborative art. In the second part of the day, you will work on a series of artworks that explore the many ways you see yourself: from what you look like, to who you are, to what you think and feel. A final exhibition will showcase your new body of work! Planned field trips include a visit to the Minneapolis Institute of Art and various nature locations. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist, get ready to hone your skills and unleash your creativity!
