Do you have an interest in a biomedical career? Have you ever wondered, “What does that body organ really look like?” Or do you simply like to tinker? This course explores more than just human anatomy/physiology; it also examines the technologies that help us understand and provide care for medical issues. As a student, you will receive multiple opportunities to expand your mind through hands-on dissections with suturing instruction, daily exploratory labs and research of medical devices. Students will also get valuable exposure to the professional world of biomedical science and technology through unique visits to biomedical research facilities and discussions with healthcare guest lectures. This class will culminate in a synthesis project that showcases an area of interest in the ever-growing intersection of biomedicine and technology.
