    Grades 1-2

We see examples of graphic design everywhere, including billboards, newspapers, ads, websites, and game interfaces.  In this class, students will learn the methods used to visually communicate with others.  Through activities, discussion of professional examples and individual and team projects, students will play with color, scale, positive and negative space, visual hierarchy, typography, and much more.  We will start by creating mood boards to get our creative juices flowing and then invent our own businesses.  Projects may include business cards complete with logo, font and color choices; posters; t-shirts; brochures; and digital ads.
