Get ready for the ride of your life! In this hands-on class, students will design and build their own small-scale roller coasters using some basic principles of physics. We’ll explore conversions between kinetic and potential energy, the role of gravity, and the effects of acceleration. We will use different types of marbles to represent various passenger loads and engage in fun competitions to see who can build the most innovative and successful roller coaster attraction. Buckle your safety belt and hold on!

A MITY Adventure Awaits

MITY’s summer program for elementary students enables curious, high achieving students to continue their learning in a fun environment. Classes are intentionally designed to spark curiosity and expose students to new ways of thinking. Advanced learners also have the opportunity to socialize and play games with peers who share their passion for learning. Students can attend full day or half day, and extended care is available for families who need it.
