Medieval Madness

Who were the real Vikings?  What was it like to live in a castle?  How were enormous cathedrals such as Notre Dame built, and why are they so big?  Students will learn the answers to these questions and many more as we dive into European life during the Middle Ages.  We will learn about knighthood and the code of chivalry, explore medieval weapons and swords, design our own coat of arms, and perhaps even try our hand at archery.  We will track the route of Marco Polo, follow the paths of some of the major Crusades, and study the horrors of the Black Death. Students will journey with King Arthur through the magical land of Camelot, listen to medieval music, see art from the period, and even play some games once enjoyed by children long ago.  If you love history, this is the class for you!
