Did you know that most successful entrepreneurs started businesses when they were kids? Have you ever wondered what it would take to launch your own product line, app, or service? This course will expose students to all aspects of business development and some basic economics principles such as supply and demand, cost-benefit analysis, and opportunity costs. Students will learn how to identify a unique product or service, analyze government regulations, create a budget, secure start-up funding, and design a marketing strategy. In addition, entrepreneurs from a variety of fields will talk about the risks and rewards associated with entrepreneurship. The course will culminate in a Shark Tank-style event in which students individually or collaboratively develop and present their own preliminary business plan.
