Heather McKinley

For Heather, teaching is a calling and a passion. She has over 2 decades of experience, including serving as a classroom teacher at Capitol Hill Gifted Magnet school in St. Paul, a STEM Specialist and curriculum developer. Heather has developed and taught summer courses with focuses in STEM and mathematics for the past 20 years. Currently she works at Oak Hills Elementary School as the 4th Grade Ignite! teacher where she serves in a full-time gifted classroom. This will be her 3rd year teaching courses for MITY. Contributing to the greater school community is important to Heather as she also works with Targeted Services students after school and holds positions on the building and district Shared Leadership Teams, District Science Committee, TDE Committee, and the Lakeville Gifted Steering Team. Heather has a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction.
