Andrew is a STEM educator who is constantly musing about science. He is laser-focused on teaching young people how to employ scientific practices and develop their data literacy. He grew up in Beijing, China before studying to become a chemistry teacher here in MN. He holds a MA in Teaching from Hamline University and teaches chemistry at Hill Murray School. He has a range of experiences inspiring and being inspired by young people through his work with 1st – 12th grade students in the classroom, tutoring and at summer camps. His embodiment of a growth mindset and deep respect for students’ thinking helps young people feel comfortable taking risks in their learning and pushing their critical thinking further.
