The human population continues to grow as our food supply struggles to keep pace. Farm fields are continuing to shrink. Students will collect information about how people are creating green spaces and hydroponics – growing plants without soil – all with the goal of maximizing food production in a small space. Using this knowledge, students will build a miniature model of a living green space from recyclable materials, LEGOs, and/or any other items in the home. Students will also have the option of incorporating Minecraft if interested. Join us as we create solutions that are good for the community, the country and the world!

About Online ExplorSchool
For Students In Grades 5 – 8
MITY’s Online ExplorSchool provides bright students with the opportunity to explore a topic of interest with similarly motivated peers. The goal is to keep students challenged and engaged as they build, create, and solve real world problems. Each class features a variety of activities that take students away from a screen as they use their hands to design and construct. Importantly, students also have opportunities to socialize with their peers through non-academic activities.
