How big is infinity? Can something go on forever? In this class, students will explore some of the most fascinating and puzzling ideas in mathematics. We will investigate questions that don’t always have one right answer and discover how mathematicians use patterns, logic, and imagination to think about the infinite. Students will explore ideas like recursion (patterns that repeat inside themselves), fractals (shapes that are the same no matter how much you zoom in), and what math can tell us about the shape of our universe. We’ll strengthen our problem-solving skills and learn how math connects to science, philosophy, and computer science. This class is perfect for students with a big imagination and an infinite curiosity.

A New Adventure Every Weekend
MITY's program for elementary students enables inquisitive, high achieving 1st - 5th grade students to continue learning outside of the traditional classroom. Courses are intentionally designed to inspire inquiry, activate imaginations, and engage eager learners in hands on discovery that is not possible within a regular classroom setting. While students are in class, parents are invited to listen to professional speakers on topics related to raising bright children, socialize with other parents, or visit a local coffee shop.
