Explain My Brain, Please! – An Introduction to Neuroscience (WAITLIST)

  • Time of Day

    Morning Class (9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. CST)

How does your brain work?  How does it allow you to move, think and feel?  Through inquiry-based and hands-on activities, students will be introduced to basic brain anatomy and function.  You will learn about neurons and their critical role in learning, designing and testing experiments to deepen your understanding of how neural pathways are formed.  We will also explore our senses – did you know we have many more than just five?  Finally, you will have the opportunity to locate the brain’s anatomy by conducting a dissection of a sheep brain.  Join us to have fun while exploring your body’s command center!
