Decades from now, kids will be learning about the year 2020 in social studies, and they will ask grown-ups what it was like to be a kid in 2020. What was it like to find out that school was closed, that you wouldn’t be allowed to visit friends? Did everyone really wear masks? In this course, students will record their observations, feelings, questions, and other thoughts about the moment in history they are living in. Assignments will include things to share with the whole class, things to share with just the teacher and other trusted adults, and things for just themselves.

About Online Your Extraordinary Saturday (YES)
For Students In Grades 1 – 4
MITY’s online learning program for talented younger students features inquiry-based classes covering a range of high interest topics. Students are grouped by age (1st/2nd and 3rd/4th) to ensure the appropriate level of challenge. Each class contains four synchronous learning sessions, hands-on activities and ways to extend learning at home. In addition, one week of each session is used exclusively for social emotional development and fun community building activities.
