In this hands-on, interactive class, students become scientists as they explore chemistry, biology, physics, botany, and more while conducting experiments in a simple mason jar. Students will develop their critical thinking skills as they learn to hypothesize, test, observe, and draw conclusions. Experiments may include growing stalagmites, creating inventions, studying light refraction, and discovering weather wonders. At the end of the week, students will be given additional experiments to try at home. Get ready to explore the wonders of science, one jar at a time!

About Your Extraordinary Saturday (YES)
For 1st – 5th Grade Students
A New Adventure Every Weekend
MITY's program for elementary students enables inquisitive, high achieving 1st - 5th grade students to continue learning outside of the traditional classroom. Courses are intentionally designed to inspire inquiry, activate imaginations, and engage eager learners in hands on discovery that is not possible within a regular classroom setting. While students are in class, parents are invited to listen to professional speakers on topics related to raising bright children, socialize with other parents, or visit a local coffee shop.
