Sue is a working artist and professional art instructor who specializes in mixed-media art with a strong focus on painting. She began exhibiting her art eleven years ago at solo and group exhibitions in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Her art making documents nostalgic details, objects and people from her youth; she is particularly fond of painting portraits of Girl Scouts and Brownies! Sue has taught art from the ages of Pre-K through adulthood and is currently a member of the Fine Arts Department at Cretin-Derham Hall in St. Paul where she is sharing art processes with her drawing, painting, and printmaking visual art students.
Several of Sue’s high school student’s have earned Gold Key, Silver Key and honorable mention regional award recognition from local exhibitions such as “Scholastic Art & Writing“ and showcased award winning artwork at “The Les Farrington Best 100 Juried Art Show”.
Sue holds a B.S. in Broad Area K-12 Art Education from The University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Her art has been represented by The Stillwater Art Guild gallery and is currently with The Cream of the Crop artist gallery and ArtReach St. Croix.
