This course blends traditional drawing and painting with experimental mixed media and sculpture. Students will build fundamental skills using graphite, watercolor, and acrylic while also exploring fiber art, collage, and paper mâché to create an artist’s memory box inspired by symbolism and storytelling. Two field trips, one to the Minneapolis Institute of Art and one to a local art supply store, will support visual inspiration and material exploration. The session concludes with a presentation of each student’s unique final work. No experience is necessary — just creativity and curiosity!
