In this course, we’ll explore the diffusion of popular culture around the world, examining the origins and spread of our favorites. We’ll also investigate the globalized economy, learning about the interconnected nature and flow of goods, resources, and people. We’ll ask a lot of questions and look for fact-based, satisfying answers. We will consider these phenomena from various points of view from around the world and ground them in our own corner of the planet, learning why we are so connected to the other eight billion people, now more than ever.
