Do you like sharing your ideas, asking big questions, or trying to convince others to see your point of view? In Intro to Debate, students will learn how to turn their opinions into strong arguments and speak with confidence in front of others. Through fun, structured debates and activities, students will explore interesting social, historical, and real-world topics while learning how to listen carefully, think critically, and respond respectfully. No public speaking experience is needed; we will practice skills together in a supportive environment. By the end of the class, students will feel more confident expressing their ideas and debating issues that matter to them.

MITY’s ExplorSchool provides rising 6th-8th grade students a unique opportunity to investigate new topics and dive deeper into their passions at a level that is challenging and motivating. Intellectually curious students take two classes, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, enabling them to explore different disciplines, experience things that are not possible within a normal school setting, and forge new friendships.
