Step into the world of game development and bring your ideas to life through JavaScript! In this class, students will design and code original games inspired by online browser hits and modern mobile favorites. Working in small development teams, you’ll move through every stage of the game-creation process, from early concept and character design to animation, audio, and programming. You will use keyboard, mouse, and point-and-click interactions to make your custom sprites run, jump, battle, or dance across the screen. Every student will contribute to the success of their group as artists, designers, and programmers. By the end of the session, each team will launch a fun, original game.

MITY’s ExplorSchool provides rising 6th-8th grade students a unique opportunity to investigate new topics and dive deeper into their passions at a level that is challenging and motivating. Intellectually curious students take two classes, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, enabling them to explore different disciplines, experience things that are not possible within a normal school setting, and forge new friendships.
