Why does America only have two political parties? What makes a candidate win or lose an election? How and why do politicians make decisions for the rest of us? How do those decisions impact people like you and me? Political science is the study of politics, governments, and power. In this course, we will review the basics of American government and discuss elections and important legislation. Students will examine real political issues and learn about the social forces behind them. If you dream of working in politics, law, or social justice, or simply want to better understand the world around you and how you can advocate for change, this is the class for you!
