  • Session

  • Time of Day

  • Grade Level

    Grades 1-2, Grades 3-4

Come explore your beautiful ears and how they work to help you see the world through sound. We will look at the workings of the ear and consider vibrations, sound waves, pitch, amplification, and more. We will experiment with making sounds, identifying sounds, and discovering what sounds bring to our understanding of the world. There will be opportunities to test some real musical instruments, create codes using sound, and go outside to discover what we can see with our ears. Finally, students will create their own instrument that demonstrates some of the properties of sound and then join with others to write a song to perform with their peers.
