Are you ready to embark on a creative journey? This course gives students the foundation to write monologues, short scenes, and even entire plays. We will explore different ways to jumpstart writing with photos, random props, and improvisation activities. You will learn how to plot out a story, create interesting characters, and add dialogue to bring the play to life. There will be opportunities to write individually, with partners, and as an entire class. Students can choose to share work through reader’s theater and simple staging. This class is ideal for anyone who enjoys writing, theater, and being creative!

MITY’s summer program for elementary students enables curious, high achieving students to continue their learning in a fun environment. Classes are intentionally designed to spark curiosity and expose students to new ways of thinking. Advanced learners also have the opportunity to socialize and play games with peers who share their passion for learning. Students can attend full day or half day, and extended care is available for families who need it.
