Konnichiwa! Have you ever admired a kimono, read a Manga comic, or tried making origami? This class gives students insight into Japanese culture through art. You will do calligraphy and symbol work using woodblock prints, create your own blossom tree collage, and fashion a kimono and Japanese fan. Students will also design a Japanese home, complete with moveable elements and a mini Zen garden. Join us as we capture the elegance, precision and simplicity of Japanese art.

A MITY Adventure Awaits
MITY’s summer program for elementary students enables curious, high achieving students to continue their learning in a fun environment. Classes are intentionally designed to spark curiosity and expose students to new ways of thinking. Advanced learners also have the opportunity to socialize and play games with peers who share their passion for learning. Students can attend full day or half day, and extended care is available for families who need it.
