In this hands-on design and fabrication course, students will transform simple cardboard into imaginative masks and props inspired by their favorite genres, from fantasy and sci-fi to superheroes and folklore. Students will learn safe and effective construction techniques using tools such as the Chompsaw and traditional cardboard cutters while exploring form, structure, and durability. As their projects take shape, students will develop characters and backstories that connect their creations to a larger narrative. Whether designed for cosplay, performance, or display, each piece will reflect creative problem-solving, craftsmanship, and storytelling. By the end of the course, students will leave with original, thoughtfully designed works that bring art and imagination together.
