What does it take to turn a raw idea into a show that a network actually wants to buy? In this course, students will learn how unscripted television and streaming shows are developed, packaged, and pitched to real networks. Working in small teams, students will take a show concept from logline to launch, learning how to generate original ideas, research network mandates, and shape a concept that fits today’s media landscape. Students will build and refine a professional pitch deck, assemble and edit a sizzle video, and practice the skills needed to confidently present their ideas in a pitch meeting. The course culminates in a final presentation of each group’s fully developed show concept, simulating the real-world experience of pitching to a network executive.
