Humans are creative; we dream up inventions, come up with solutions to problems, and think of new perspectives and ways to see the world. Can animals be creative, too? In this class, we will travel the world to study clever creatures, watching their behavior and investigating their impact on the world around them. We will read tales that people have penned about them and use the SCAMPER creative-thinking strategy to make our own creatures! Finally, we’ll introduce our animals to the world through illustrations and writing diaries from the perspective of our new creation.

A New Adventure Every Weekend
MITY's program for elementary students enables inquisitive, high achieving 1st - 4th grade students to continue learning outside of the traditional classroom. Courses are intentionally designed to inspire inquiry, activate imaginations, and engage eager learners in hands on discovery that is not possible within a regular classroom setting. While students are in class, parents are invited to listen to professional speakers on topics related to raising bright children, socialize with other parents, or visit a local coffee shop.
