Kari Rise

Kari teaches IB Geography at Highland Park Senior High in St. Paul. She has been a Model United Nations advisor for over 20 years, and has taken students to New York City for the International Model UN conference at the United Nations headquarters. She has also served as the president of the United Nations Association of Minnesota and is an active board member of the organization. She works with the UNA-MN annually to organize the State High School MUN Conferences at Macalester College and the University of Minnesota. She holds BAs in Criminology and Secondary Education and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. One of her favorite memories is seeing Kofi Annan speak at Macalester College in 2018 for the opening of the Kofi Annan Institute for Global Citizenship.
