Here are some helpful answers to commonly asked questions about our program:
The current grade level at the time the student applies.
All the application components do not need to be sent together; however, we will not review your application until all the materials and tuition payment are received.
MITY hires master teachers with subject-specific expertise. Most of them have been teaching in our program for several years and know how to work with gifted students at this age. MITY also hires one intern for each class to assist teachers during class time. Our interns go through the same background checks as our teachers.
Classes are capped at 15 students.
Yes, students will be asked to provide health information and details on specific needs. MITY will work to plan the necessary accommodations.
The MITY staff strive to maintain a safe environment for all participants. If a student becomes sick or injured, parents will be contacted immediately. In an emergency, students may be taken to either Aspen Clinic at Ford Parkway or the Children’s Hospital at United in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Families have an opportunity to visit classrooms on the 3rd Saturday of the program.
Students attend from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM for three consecutive Saturdays.
