Students will explore color, pattern, and design through this exciting class! Block printing involves carving a stamp by hand and printing it onto paper. First, we will look at our surroundings to create patterns in our sketchbook. Next, we will learn the basics of designing, carving, and printing a pattern. Lastly, we will explore how color and composition affect our design. For the final project, students will create a series of prints. This series could be a set of postcards or a series of larger artworks – it’s up to you! Each student will receive a block printing kit for this class. You will have all the materials and skills needed to continue printing at home! ($50 course fee)
